DISTRICT ALERT SYSTEM

Jackrabbit Road PUD (the District), your water and sewer provider, has implemented a digital notification system to inform residents quickly of an emergency or otherwise significant situation related to water, sewer, drainage, or other District service.

Over the past few years, there have been several major events in which the District residents needed to be informed and/or updated as to the situation, most notably the flooding from Hurricane Harvey and damage from the Blizzard of ‘21 (Uri), both of which resulted in reduced services within the District.

In both events, there were a multitude of questions and concerns from residents that had no source of reliable information. Social media was overrun with large amounts of false/misleading information and incorrect advice.

The digital notification will be sent from (720) 669-0575 and will identify itself as being sent on behalf of the District, (JRRPUD). The notification will be written by the District Operator, the District Engineer, or a designated District board member.  In an emergency, these are the people that will be aware of the current situation and have the latest and most reliable information available.

What will notifications look like?

Residents registered for this free service (*) will receive a text message notification explaining the basics of the situation and if applicable, any action to be taken. In some instances, the notification may also contain a link to a website with more detailed information.

When will the notification system be used?

District residents may receive a notification to inform them of situations affecting their service, such as emergency water shutoffs for repair, low water pressure, boil water notices, flood, or extreme freeze warnings, etc.

Who will receive notifications?

District residents will only receive notifications that apply to their District services.

How to register?

There will be three ways in which District residents may register for this free service (*).

  • On or about February 7, 2022, a text notification from (720) 669-0575 will be sent to the phone number listed on each account within the District. If this number is a cell phone, you will automatically be registered.  Note: If the phone number on your District account is a land line, it will bounce back, and you will not be registered automatically. You will need to register in one of the following ways.
  • You can register by sending a text message (*) to (720) 669-0575 with the word JRRPUD and you will be registered.
  • You can also register at https://districtdirectory.org/jrrpud.

Multiple phones can be registered. There are no limits or requirements. It is recommended that at least two members per household register to receive text notifications.

Opting Out

If you are registered to receive notifications and later wish to opt out of the service, you may do so at any time by simply sending a text message (*) to (720) 669-0575 with the word “STOP JRRPUD”. For help, text (*) HELP anytime.  Available in USA.  Your privacy is always protected, and your information will not be shared.

(*) There is no cost to the residents to participate in this notification system. However, Message and Data Rates may apply depending upon the cell phone carrier and plan that you have.
